From the Word:  Inverted Priorities  (from Matthew 23:13 - 22)

“You fools and blind men!  Which is more important, the gold or the temple that sanctified the gold?”  (Matthew 23:17 NASB)

Lord, how “off” the Pharisees were!  They brought their own value system to this comparison and missed the point of what was of real value.  To them, the gold had value, an intrinsic value of its own.  But to You, the real value was the temple, Your dwelling place - and today that is me!  I am Your temple, and You dwell within me and within others whose hearts belong to You.

O that I may connect with You in my heart and soul, and not get preoccupied with externals that, in the eyes of man, have intrinsic value, yet they only have value and importance as they relate to You and Your dwelling place.  You are the pre-eminent priority, far above all others, above everything else.  Thank You for this reminder, Lord.  Amen.

Please pray with us:  I have been receiving email updates from a friend (and co-laborer for the gospel) in another country who has had difficulty renewing his visa and had to leave the country.  His situation has reminded me of the demands, sometimes unreasonable, that our fellow laborers for the gospel in other countries have to go through to get there and then to stay there.  Sometimes it is just the inefficiencies of the system, other times it is corruption, and of course in some cases it is resistance to the gospel.

Please pray with us for George that his visa would be renewed in God’s timing and he would be able to get back into the country when God wants him there.
