Local - important local news update, answer to prayer?
By John | February 20, 2009
Thanks to those of you who have been praying with us recently regarding the rash of arson fires in our town. Two arrests were made yesterday. Check out a news report here.
These arrests certainly don’t solve all the fires, and even though a person confesses to a crime, he might not be the only responsible party. In any case, we are all taking a momentary sigh of relief that there appears to be progress in addressing this issue that has put a great strain on our community. As I mentioned in my prayer entry of January 28th, one of the positive aspects to come out of this has been a pulling together of the community of believers in Coatesville, as well as the rest of the city.
Please continue to pray with us as we trust God for the safety of our community and for these difficult circumstances to result in a higher good (Genesis 50:20 - “And as for you, you meant evil for me, but God meant it for good…). Let’s also pray for these two men and their families. It’s natural to look upon perpetrators of evil as the enemy, and they are in a sense, but they are also victims themselves, slaves to their own lusts and sinful nature. Jesus died and rose for them, too. There but for the grace of God…
Thanks.
